Greek Orthodox Society - Kousba
450 families are the groundwork of the Christian Greek Orthodox Society in Kousba, who are currently served by two priests: Father Emilianos Chehadeh and Father Dimitrios Esber.

The town hosts eight Greek Orthodox Churches. The main one holds the name of Saints Sergios and Bakhous, while the cemetery church is named after the wholly prophet Elias. Other churches are named after the following saints: Mary (2), Bandalaymoun, Jacob, and Joseph.

Dates to remember:
Kousba celebrates the following Christian wholly days:
1- On July 20th; Elias the Prophet.
2- On July 27th, Saint Bandalymoun.
3- On August 15th, Saint Mary.

Kousba's Greek Orthodox Council:
The priests are ushered by a council made of 13 members. Their work is divided into four active groups:
1st group: responsible for the Church lands and assets.
2nd group: responsible for the Financial control, planning and collection.
3rd group: responsible for the Social welfare and health support.
4th group: responsible for the Christian education and Orthodox thymes.

The Council currently studies several construction projects such as:
a- Building a second hall to host weddings.
b- Continuing the renovation of Saint Mary s churches.
c- Building a fence and flower vases around Saint Elias Church and cemetery.
d- Renovation of Saint Barbara church.

Saint Mary Church her wholly Birth:
No written documents exist to show the age of this church, however, the scripts and drawings on the church walls, depicts that church is old back to the twelve century. Part of the church was knocked on the ground and rebuilt sometimes later. Three more rooms were added and used for teaching, while another small church was built on their roof. The church contains lots of beautifully old icons, but it requires lost of maintenance and renovation.

Saint Mary Church her wholly burial:
Its construction was sponsored by Bahma Nassif Hanna Nassif between 1850 and 1900. Its ceiling is made of wood holding red piles. An old Icon of the wholly mighty fixed at the middle of the wooden, while other icons of the four apostles were hanged at the corners.

Saint Barbara Church:
It is a very old church. The Cross crowning its main entrance was crafted back in the Crusades era. It contains Greek scripts and Byzantine drawings, covered currently by a layer of clay. A small grotto lays near the church, containing old colorful drawings.

Saint Jacob Church:
It is a small church built by the town farmers at the middle of the fields, to be able to pray while working at the fields.

Saint Joseph Church:
It is a small church built by the town farmers at the middle of the fields, to be able to pray while working at the fields.

Saint Bandalaymoun Church:
It is a medium sized church situated at the center of town, which facilitates the daily visits of believers for prayers and meditations. It holds a sign pointing its construction back to 1912.

Prophet Elias Church:
Its construction was sponsored by Bahma Salim Endraous in 1904, as it is shown on the sign craved above its entrance. The Town cemeteries lay near this church. Believers visit this church regularly, especially during hard times.

Saint Sergius and Bakhous Church:
It is the main Town Church, which hosts the weekly mass. It holds a sign which says that the church was renovated in 1842. The old icons proves the oldness of this church.
